Crystal Beach, Zambales 2015

I woke up one February morning with a text message from my sister saying she wants to go to a beach. Any beach.

So, 15 minutes later, we’re booked for a weekend in Crystal Beach. I didn’t even have to get up from my bed. Oh, the wonders of technology.

After accidentally discovering the beach of San Narciso about three years ago, it has always been one of my favorites. First, it’s near Manila and very accessible for a quick jaunt. Second, it’s very relaxing and peaceful (unless there’s an event like Summer Siren). Third, it has a sunset view that edges out Manila Bay’s. And fourth, it’s cheap. Not dirt cheap, but damn-I-didn’t-expect-a-resort-with-those-types-of-facilities-to-be-cheap kind of cheap.

How to get there:

1. Victory Liner bus to Iba, Zambales. Get off at San Narciso town proper. Cost around P350.

2. Get a tricycle to Crystal Beach. Costs around P30.

That’s it. Of course, the whole trip takes around 3-4 hours depending on traffic but once you get there and see these:

Hello, lovely.

Home Sweet Tower

Our home for the weekend.

You're not supposed to be here...

Oddly, pine trees grow along Zambales beaches. Here’s one being helped into adulthood.

Wide, wide, wide

Sunchasing part two

Spectacular, isn’t it?

Repeat after me: ahhhhh...

Sleeping the morning away.

Hey, sister! The beach sentinel   Shades of blue

Makes it all worth it, right?

As always, do not litter, take care of your belongings, and respect the people, culture, and environment and leave it as you found it.

Keep going,
